J’avais besoin d’une carte pour une amie qui célèbre son anniversaire aujourd’hui, mais je ne voulais pas de fleurs mais plutôt quelques adorables petites bêtes et j’ai fini par faire cette carte.

I needed a card for a friend who is celebrating her birthday today, but I didn’t want flowers but rather some adorable critters and I ended up making this card.

C’est en surfant sur le net à regarder des vidéos que je suis tombée sur une de Jennifer Mc Guire avec ses cartes Pop-Up Frame. Ni une ni deux, je me suis lancée dans la création d’une cart Pop-Up avec ces adorables souris et leurs trèfles à 4 feuilles (le vert étant à l’honneur dans beaucoup de défis en ce moment).

It was while surfing the web watching videos that I came across one by Jennifer Mc Guire with her Pop-Up Frame cards. Without further ado, I started creating a Pop-Up card with these adorable mice and their four-leaf clovers (green being the star of many challenges at the moment).

J’ai tout d’abord cherché les matrices que je pourrais utiliser pour faire le cadre. La matrice festonnée s’est imposée d’elle même pour faire la partie vert foncé mais j’ai dû utiliser une matrice slimline en “trafiquant” un peu la découpe pour qu’elle s’adapte avec la partie vert foncé. Puis j’ai utilisé une matrice rectangulaire plus petite pour faire l’ouverture.

I first looked for dies I could use to make the frame. The scalloped die was the obvious choice for the dark green part, but I had to use a slimline die and “tweak” the cut a bit to make it fit with the dark green part. Then I used a smaller rectangular die to make the opening.

Une fois le cadre confectionné, j’ai fait l’arrière plan. Pour cela j’ai utilisé un brayer que j’ai enduit d’encre vert clair puis je l’ai roulé sur une feuille de papier blanc aléatoirement. J’ai recommencé avec une autre encre vert puis encore une fois avec encore un autre vert jusqu’à recouvrir toutes les parties blanches du papier.

Once the frame was made, I made the background. For this I used a brayer that I coated with light green ink then I rolled it randomly on a sheet of white paper. I started again with another green ink then again with yet another green until I covered all the white parts of the paper.

Ensuite j’ai fait les petites souris en les tamponnant sur du papier blanc. Pour celle du milieu, je l’ai masquée puis là encore j’ai passé le brayer avec de l’encre verte pour recouvrir le champ de trèfles mais surtout les interstices entre les trèfles. Puis avec des crayons de couleur, j’ai donné un peu de dimension aux trèfles et j’ai coloré la souris. J’ai découpé l’image à la main. J’ai aussi coloré l’autre souris avec des crayons de couleur et je l’ai découpé à la main.

Then I made the little mice by stamping them on white card stock. For the one in the middle, I masked it and then again I went over the brayer with green ink to cover the field of clovers but especially the spaces between the clovers. Then with coloured pencils, I gave a little dimension to the clovers and I coloured the mouse. I fussy cut the image. I also coloured the other mouse with coloured pencils and I fussy cut it.

Puis j’ai assemblé la carte. Tout d’abord, j’ai collé l’arrière plan sur une double carte vert clair. J’ai ensuite collé l’image avec la souris dans le champ de trèfles au dos du cadre.

Then I assembled the card. First, I glued the background onto a light green double-sided card. Then I glued the image of the mouse into the field of clovers on the back of the frame.

Afin de créer cet effet Pop-Up j’ai créé un pliage accordéon sur deux bandes de papier et je les ai collées sur la hauteur au dos du cadre avant de les coller sur la double carte.

To create this Pop-Up effect, I created a kinda accordion fold on two strips of paper and I glued them on the height of the back of the frame before gluing them on the double card.

Pour finir, j’ai collé la grande souris, un papillon et des trèfles sur le cadre directement.

To finish, I glued the big mouse, a butterfly and clovers directly on the frame.

Et voilà ! J’ai beaucoup aimé faire cette carte et j’aime beaucoup le rendu final.

Et voilà ! I really enjoyed making this card and I really like the final result.
