Il y a tout juste un an naissait la petite fille de ma meilleure amie. J’étais sur le point de vous montrer la carte que j’ai faite pour ses 1 an, mais je me suis soudain souvenu que je ne vous avez encore jamais montré le faire-part de naissance que les parents m’avaient gentiment demandé de faire. Alors c’est ce que je vous présente aujourd’hui, la carte d’anniversaire sera pour un autre jour !

Hello !

Exactly one year ago, my best friend’s grand-daughter was born. I was about to show you the card I made for her first birthday, but I suddenly remembered that I’d never shown you the birth announcement her parents kindly asked me to make. So that’s what I’m showing you today, the birthday card will be for another day !

Le thème qu’ils désiraient étaient les animaux de la jungle, je leur ai donc montré ce que j’avais en stock (tampons et dies) dans ce thème, et je leur ai fait cette proposition qu’ils ont retenue.

The theme they wanted was jungle animals, so I showed them what I had in my stash (stamps and dies) in this theme, and I made them this suggestion which they chose.

J’ai commencé par faire le dessus du faire-part avec la végétation tropicale et l’ouverture. Dans du papier cartonné blanc de 13,5 cm x 13,5 cm, j’ai découpé une ouverture avec une matrice ronde. Puis j’ai appliqué dessus le tampon du feuillage tropical avec de l’encre à dégradé de vert.

I started by making the top of the announcement with the tropical foliage and the opening. From 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm white cardstock, I cut an opening with a round die. Then I applied the tropical foliage stamp on top with green gradient ink.

J’ai continué avec toutes les découpes des feuilles puis je les ai classées par paquet (1 paquet = 1 faire-part). Comme il me fallait 30 faire-part, j’ai répété l’opération 30 fois pour chaque feuille (💪🏻).

I went on with all the leaves cutouts and then I sorted them by pack (1 pack = 1 announcement). Since I needed 30 announcements, I repeated the operation 30 times for each leaf (💪🏻).

Après quoi j’ai fait l’image avec le léopard. Sur du papier spécial pour marqueur (papier très fin qui ne rend pas le faire-part trop lourd à l’envoi), j’ai tamponné l’image, je l’ai masquée puis j’ai fait le fond avec des encres Distress oxide. Une fois encore j’ai répété l’opération 30 fois.

After that I made the image with the leopard. On special marker paper (very thin paper that does not make the announcement too heavy to send), I stamped the image, I masked it then I made the background with Distress oxide inks. Once again, I repeated the operation 30 times.

Pour finir, j’ai assemblé tous les éléments ensemble. J’ai collé l’image sur un carré de papier blanc (partie 1). Au dos de la fenêtre j’ai collé les différentes feuilles, puis j’ai collé cette partie 2 sur la partie 1.

To finish, I assembled all the elements together. I adhered the image onto a square of white card stock (part 1). On the back of the window I glued the different leaves, then I attached this part 2 onto part 1.

Et voilà ! J’ai remis les faire-part à la maman qui s’est chargé de le compléter ensuite avec la date, l’heure, le poids, la taille et d’adorables photos.

Et voilà ! I gave the announcements to the mother, who then completed them with the date, time, weight, height, and adorable photos.
