Today I have the great pleasure and the honour to be the Guest Designer over at Inkspirational, for winning one of their recent challenge. Thanks to Marina and all the team for welcoming me over !
Le défi pour cette quinzaine est un sketch dont voici le design.
The challenge for this fortnight is a sketch and here is the design.
Voici ma carte/ Here is my card :
En voyant ce sketch, j’ai tout de suite pensé aux fleurs de Lotus (que j’adore !) et je suis donc partie sur cette scène aquarelle. Sur une double carte en papier aquarelle j’ai tout d’abord délimité les côtés en traçant 2 bordures dorées avec un marqueur versamark et de la poudre à embosser dorée.
Seeing this sketch, I immediately thought of the flowers of Lotus (that I love!) and I therefore created this water coloured scene. On a double card in watercolour paper, I first delimited the sides by drawing 2 golden borders with a marker versamark and gold embossing powder.
J’ai tamponné les 2 fleurs, la feuille et les tiges sur du papier aquarelle avec de l’encre Versamark et j’ai embossé à chaud avec de la poudre Or. J’ai ensuite utilisé des encres Distress et un crayon pinceau pour colorer les différents éléments. Je les ai découpés avec des ciseaux.
I stamped the 2 flowers, the leaf and the stems on a watercolour paper with Versamark ink and I heat embossed with Gold powder. Then I used Distress ink and a water pen brush to colour the different parts. I fussy cut them.
Sur la double carte j’ai illustré l’eau en passant une légère couche d’aquarelle bleue très clair. Puis j’ai collé les différentes éléments avec de la mousse adhésive pour créer la scène.
I water coloured the card base with a very soft blue to illustrate the water. Then I foam mounted the different elements to create the scene.
Pour finir, j’ai tamponné le sentiment en noir, j’ai embossé et j’ai collé des “gouttelettes” ! Et voilà ! J’espère que cette carte vous inspirera et que vous viendrez jouer avec nous ! Je vous invite à aller découvrir, ICI, toutes les magnifiques créations de l’équipe de créateurs !
To finish, I stamped the sentiment in black, I heat embossed and I glued the Dew drops ! And Voilà ! I hope that this card will inspire you and that you’ll come to play along with us ! I invite you to discover, HERE, all the wonderful creations of the Design Team !

Hi Izzy, another perfect interpretation of a sketch. You always seem to get it just right! I think your card is beautiful , those super soft and pretty pastel blooms with the gold embossing powder are just heaven. And isn’t that lotus just the perfect size and shape for watercolour. The blue wash background is so pretty too. Congratulations on your GD spot, I am so happy that you get recognised for all your beautiful cards. When I first saw your card, I was amazed by how you’d managed to use the sketch and make it totally your own. I love the touches of gold – so gorgeous against the pretty, delicate colours of the flowers. I love this! Thanks for being a wonderful guest designer at Inkspirational .
