Less is More Weeks #336 & #337 – OLC Colour card

Bonjour !

Hello !

It’s time for a new challenge over at Less is More and this week it is a special one ! Indeed, the Less is More team and the AAA Cards team are joining for a common challenge ! A One Layer Card over a coloured card base !

In agreement with the AAA Cards team, this challenge will be a two weeks’ challenge (# 336 = week 1 & # 337 = week 2). For more details, I invite you to go HERE, on the blog of Less is More, and THERE, on the blog of AAA Cards.

We also have the great pleasure of welcoming Kylie, the wonderful and no less talented owner of Happy Little Stampers who is our sponsor for the month of July! I invite you to visit her blog and leave her a lovely comment!

And here are the cards that I propose you for the 2 coming weeks !

On a double soft blue card, I stamped (x2 for the mirror effect) the image of the succulents with Versamark ink and I heat embossed with clear powder.

Then I coloured the inside of the flowers and of the leaves with colour pencils. To finish, I stamped and I heat embossed the sentiment between the two images.

Stamps: Uniko “Happy succulents”, Happy Little Stampers “Simply said (sentiment)” – Inks: Versamark, Versafine “Majestic blue” – Pencils: Faber-Castell polychromos “#101, 129, 130, 132, 140”.
Challenges:
CAS on Friday #111 : flowers
The flower challenge #10 : Embossing Heat/Dry
Stamping sensations : July – Anything with flowers

2/ With heartfelt sympathy / Sincères condoléances

For this second card, I used the same method as for the first one but instead of coloring, I only pointed out the details of the card with a silver-colored pencil (not obvious to see on the picture!)

I also put a line of white pencil on some parts of the letters of the sentiment in order to give it a little bit of dimension.

Stamps: Uniko “Pure Florals – Lily” – Inks: Versamark, Versafine “Onyx Black” – Pencils: Faber-Castell polychromos “#251”.

3/ Merci / Thanks

For my last birthday, my relatives offered me a stay in Thalasso that I honored in June. On my return, I wanted to thank them and so I made this card. The background card looks white, but I promise you it is a very pale blue!

To make this card, I used a technique that I’ve seen on the blog of Jennifer McGuire. On a pale blue double card, I put some masking tape in order to make a square. In this square I made a gradient of blues  with three Distress inks and before they were dry, I brushed some Perfect Pearls over it  and I dried with the heat gun. Then I added the sentiment.

To finish and to give dimension to the card, I dry embossed with an embossing folder “waves”, which reminded me the decoration of the tiles of the Thalasso !

Stamps: Artemio “Textes manuscrits” – Inks: Versamark, Versafine “Majestic Blue”, Distress “Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon”  – Embossing folder: WRMK next level “Waves” –   Embellishment: Ranger “Perfect Pearls”.

  1. Sighing with the beauty of your cards here Izzy, they are all terrific! Fabulous work with the coloured pencils on the first subtle blue card; that one is so feminine. I’ve fallen in love with your highlighting on the sympathy card – what a super technique that is and it looks so elegant. The beautiful blue ombré with the shimmer is wonderful – that’s another technique I must try out. Thanks for the inspiration. So sorry that I am late visiting you but I had a super busy time getting all the preparations made for our trip to the U.K. I made it here in the end though! xx

  2. A trio of absolutely lovely cards! I’m especially taken with the third one; a beautiful background for a simple, yet oh-so-important sentiment! So glad you shared this gem in the ATSM CAS challenge!

  3. A trio of loveliness, Isabelle … beautiful blooms, a calm and wonderfully serene condolences card, and a stunning, shimmery, texture blended panel … love it! Sounds as though you were transported back to Thalasso with this last one! Bon semaine! Bises, Anita 🙂

  4. A wonderful trio, Izzy. I love the tone on tone blues with the pop of pink on your first card, so effective. I think you and Trina were on the same wavelength with your grey monochrome designs. Loving the silver accents. And wow, your last card is so effective, I’ve still not tried that technique from Jennifer but it really is stunning! xx

  5. All your cards are lovely, Izzy. The last one has such shine and dimension while still remaining a CAS card. Thanks for sharing it with us at Addicted to Stamps and More.

  6. Three super pretty cards Izzy. I rarely use anything other than white for my card bases, but it really does add a little something extra I think (Sometimes I use grey but not very adventurous!). The blues are really gorgeous (particularly love the wave/tiled one) and you can really see the shimmer on that. Perfect Pearls are so useful aren’t they! And that beautiful grey/silver one has stolen my heart. I think it is a perfect sympathy card, elegant, and CAS. Really gorgeous! Hugs, Lisa xx

  7. You have made two beautiful cards with the Uniko images here, Izzy! I love the way that the succulents frame the sentiment and that lily is always so striking. The white highlights on both are very effective. Your last card is gorgeous – the ombre inking and embossed waves create such a stunning look. Have a great week x

  8. Three super cards, Izzy! That gorgeous shimmer on the third card really grabbed my attention, and I love the clever dry embossing. The first two cards are both so beautiful – fab colouring and really stylish! Have a great weekend x

  9. Amazing again, Izzy. Every week you impress me with three fabulous creations. Love how different these are and love the techniques you used. My absolute fave is your gray sympathy card. Beautiful image and fantastic pencil details. Have a wonderful weekend. xx

  10. What stunning cards, all very different and all gorgeous. The first card is so very pretty with lovely colouring. The second card is so elegant and classy. The third card has great texture, lovey colours and great technique x Thank you for the inspiration x

  11. 3 stunning makes, Izzy! The waves- embossingfolder is something I’ve been longing for to purchase but it seems always to be out of stock -I love the results! The flower cards you made are both very beautiful. Great job with colored pencils and I do love your use of silver pencil in the grey card, it adds a lot of interest in a subtle way. xxx

  12. You’ve been super busy Izzy and made 3 stunning cards for this challenge. Full of wonderful technique and eye-catching detail. Loving them all especially the simplicity of the second one yet so effective. Perfect use of your coloured card bases and the technique you’ve used on the last one is awesome. I’ve tried that before but need to give it another outing as it’s so classy and shiny. Have a fantastic weekend. x
