Carte/Card

Altenew – Lotus + Vellum Happy birthday card

Bonjour !

Hello !

It’s my mother’s birthday on Sunday and even if we go and wish her in person, I like to send her a card. It’s always a pleasure to receive a card for one’s birthday, right ?

As I wanted to try the technique of colouring with pencils over Vellum, I pulled out the lotus stamp from Altenew. I love lotus. I admit that for this card I accommodated them my own way since normally the flowers and the leaves of the lotus rise above the water, as I did for the button !

With a very light pink Promarker, I coloured the back of the Vellum. On the top of the Vellum I stamped with Versamark the outlines of the lotus then I heat embossed the flowers with white powder. I made a mask for the leaves and I stamped with green Distress ink and with Versamark in order to heat emboss with clear powder.

I coloured inside the outlines of the flowers with colour pencils in order to illustrate the veins of the flowers and the leaves. Then I fussy cut around the outlines.

To finish, I diluted blue Distress ink that I brushed on the bottom of the double card. I glued the lotus with Glossy Accent and with micro glue dots. Then I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink. And Voilà the result !
