Create a Smile – Félicitations

Bonjour !

Hello !

Am I the only one waiting for spring? I don’t think so, no. Still, I can’t wait to see all these pretty colors come back in our garden. So in the meantime, I revive it on my cards.

As I told you in THIS post, there are a lot of challenges right now to open our chakras and give us lots of inspiration and here is the card born from this combo of challenges (CAS Stencil, Create a Smile, WWC …).

I love this tulips set from Create a Smile. Here I made for it a pretty greenery parterre using the Ghosting technique of the CAS stencil challenge.

On a strip of watercolour paper I made a gradient of Distress inks. Then I put a stencil over and with a damp cloth I removed the colour. On the yellow we do not really see but I like this faded look.

On a Bristol paper I stamped and black heat embossed the tulip and the butterfly and I coloured them with Zig pens and Distress inks. Then I fussy cut them.

I adhered the watercolour strip on a double white card and I foam mounted the tulip and the butterfly. To finish I stamped this sentiment to congratulate a blogland friend, that you surely know, Estelle TBT of Scrap of me, for a publication about her blog in a French Scrap magazine. Bravo Estelle, for your beautiful cards and this well-deserved recognition !

I love this combo of colours, I find it luminous and perfect to illustrate the spring.

  4. It’s beautiful Izzy – gorgeous Spring colours! I kept wondering about the ghosting technique which seemed to have passed me by. But then I read your description and realised I have done it before and called it the “water lifting technique” haha! It’s a fab technique that I have not done for ages, so thank you for the beautiful reminder. Hugs, Lisa xx
