Bonjour !
Hello !
I do not know about you, but I find that there are many nice challenges right now and I feel really inspired ! Today it’s again a combination of challenges (Create a Smile, CAS Watercolour, March CAS Card Exchange, …) that inspired me this card…
I started with the background and I stamped several times the butterfly of this set on a watercolour paper, then I white heat embossed.
To colour them, I used two green Brushos (yes I know we see yellow but it is part of one of the greens) that I sprinkled on the watercolour paper and I sprayed water on it. And the magic of pigments with water did the rest !
I let it dry and I made the flower. I stamped and I white heat embossed this beautiful tulip on Vellum paper. Then I used Distress inks, water and a brush to watercolour. We do not see the nuances because I stuck the tulip directly on the colored background. But I tried putting a white paper underneath and without the white paper and in fact I like the fact that we can see by transparency the pattern below, I think it gives nice shades and more dimension to the tulip.
I foam mounted the square of Brushos on the double white card then I glued the tulip with micro glue dots. To finish I stamped the sentiment.
It was the first time I tried watercolour on Vellum paper and I really love the result. To do again !

What a beauty! You always make brusho look gorgeous, I struggle to know what to do with my brusho! I adore your card Izzy and love the tulip over the top, the whole card just looks stunning. I tried watercolouring with Zigs on vellum but mine warped so I need to have another go and see if I can improve it! Have a wonderful weekend Izzy, thanks for inspiring as always! Lisa xx
This is so beautiful! Thanks for joining the Create A Smile Challenge!
Yes I agree….I love the vellum tulip and it looks so striking not backed with white card. The background brusho’s and the white butterflies are so unique and so very striking. Artsy card and so unique, which I love x.
Absolutely GORGEOUS card Izzy!! LOVE your colorful butterfly background and really like the vellum tulip too with the design showing through! Lovely, lovely card! Thanks so much for sharing this beauty with us at CAS Watercolour!! :0)
Wow!!! The colors radiate and the red tulip in the middle is a real eye-catcher. And the delicate butterflies in the background make the card special.
Hugs Gundi
Beautiful card Izzy! I LOVE your bright butterfly background. The brushos have such vivid colours. Your vellum flower is gorgeous. I do love the way the background adds shadows to the flower. Very cool!! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour! xx
WOW Izzy, gorgeous card! I love your watercolouring on the vellum, it is stunning! Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday.
What a beautiful design, Izzy! I love that background and I’m always amazed at how different the Brushos come out each time. So many colors in those crystals! The tulip is gorgeous and so beautifully colored. I love seeing the background through it! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Watercolour!
Oh my, Isabelle, what an amazing card! I love the technique you’ve used, adding all that embossing for your background, and then letting the green Brusho disperse the colours in those bright yellows and greens. I love that you added the vellum tulip without a white backing. The shadowy colour changes caused by the background adds so much depth and character. A wonderful creation! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
What a gorgeous and happy card! I agree about the background showing through – looks great! Thanks so much for playing in our CAS Watercolour challenge this month:)
This is so pretty Izzy! love your amazing colourful background and your beautiful flower too of course. Thanks for sharing with us over at ‘The Flower Challenge’ 😉 Viv DT xx
