Altenew – Bonne fête maman / Happy mother’s day

Bonjour !

Hello !

I hope you had a lovely week ! I’m back today with a card inspired straight from a mix of challenges and essentially the May Inspiration challenge from Altenew as well as the new challenge #83 from Time Out. I explain you with the following pictures…

… et voici ma carte. / …and here is my card.

As you can see, I’ve been inspired by the colours of the Altenew challenge and also by the sublime card of Hannelie from Desert Diva, card that we have to CASE in the challenge from Time Out. If you don’t know yet Hannelie (I really doubt it !), I strongly encourage you to visit her wonderful blog. You will only find wonders, day after day, she treats us with such incredible creations always very original and also very CAS !

I then get inspired by the bright colours, the outline flowers in black, the splatters and the Mother’s day sentiment (the 28th of May for us !).

I made “smooshing” splatters with Distress ink which I first put on an acrylic block, sprayed with water and with a crumpled packing plastic, I applied the mixture on Watercolor paper. I did the same for the green parts on a scrap of watercolour paper and I then stamped the leaves on it and I fussy cut them. On a white cardstock, I stamped the flowers with black Versafine ink and I heat embossed with clear powder, and I fussy cut them. The sentiment is directly stamped onto the watercolour paper.

To finish, I glued the leaves on the watercolour paper and the flowers are adhered with Glue Dots. The watercolour paper is foam mounted on a double green card. And Voilà ! An easy and quick card to make (except may be the sentiment which is stamped letter by letter !)

  1. I love the juxtaposition of the white blooms and the “splattered” leaves and background, while maintaining white space. So lovely. Thanks for joining us at STAMPlorations CAS.

  2. Hi Izzy, all of a sudden I received an email from you including your last 5 posts, not sure why they all came in one go but they are here! This is a stunning card. The vibrancy of the colours is gorgeous, but the whole design is as always spot on! I love the splatters and the colour overall against the white flowers. Truly beautiful. I am so happy that I found your blog 😍😘. Will read and reply to the others when I can as I am currently flat on my back, so not easy to read or type! Xx

  3. Wow !

  4. Simply lovely, Isabelle … such a wonderful contrast between the energy of those vibrant pink splatters and the simplicity of the beautiful white blooms … just gorgeous! Delighted, as always, to have you playing along with us at Time Out! Bises, Anita 🙂

  5. It’s clear that you were inspired by Hannelie’s card but yours looks completely different (I made mine too similar to hers…)! Love the splatters, the spring colors, and I am certain your mother loved it, too! Hmmm, your splatter technique sounds interesting… will have to try that…

  6. Love the mix of bright pink and green for this beautiful card, Izzy! Great idea to use plastic for the splattering. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour and CAS Mix Up!

  7. What a wonderful CASE, I love how you took many elements from Hannelie’s card and made them your own. Stunning colors and fun artsy look! Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!

  8. So clever to incorporate Hannelie’s card and the inspiration colours and photo from Altenew. Great idea how you have done the spalts onto an acrylic block..genius! Gorgeous card and thank you for sharing this inspirational beauty x
