Bonjour !
Me revoilà pour un nouveau défi chez Addicted to Stamp and More avec un tout nouveau thème…
Hello !
Here I am with a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamp and More and a very new theme…
This is about making a card using either stencils or cutting dies. One more time, I chose to use both and again with a marine theme !
Happy and honoured to be one of the Honourable Mentions at The Male Room.
With the 4 days’ bank holiday that are coming, I still have the hope to go and see the sea… weather forecast will have the final say ! Everything still being closed (due to COVID), if the weather is not fine, I don’t want to stay inside the flat, even if it is by the seaside. But it was while thinking of this possible getaway that I was inspired for my card.
I love this japanese pattern of waves (Seikaiha), so I used it to make the background of my card with a stencil and Distress inks.
Then I die cut a circle, the lighthouse and the life buoy. I softly blended blue ink with a brush on the circle. I coloured the lighthouse and the buoy with fine liners.
I stamped and I heat embossed in blue the sentiment on a scrap of kraft paper. Then I cut it with the circle die on the bottom part.
I glued the lighthouse and the sentiment on the circle then I made two holes to put the eyelets. I put a twine around the background that I foam mounted on the double card.
Before foam mounting the circle on the double card, I tied the buoy with the twine and I put the other end through the eyelet.
I really hope to be able to take a good breath of sea air ! And do not forget to go and see the wonderful inspirational cards of my teamies on the main blog HERE and on their respective blog where you can leave them a nice comment !

I like the water/nautical theme. Was wondering how you did the curved shape at top & bottom?
