The Rainbow Card Challenge #29 – Positively Periwinkle

Hello !

A new month begins and that means a new color at Rainbow Card Challenge ! This month, we propose you the Periwinkle colour.

So, to your pencils, markers, inks, papers and others to present us all your gorgeous interpretations !

Voici la mienne / Here is mine

I made this card for my friend’s birthday this past Wednesday. Just as me, she is very fond of hydrangeas, above all the periwinkle hydrangeas, as the ones we can admire when we go to Brittany and as the ones that I of course have in my garden.

I die cut a slimline rectangle in a watercolour paper and I used the background layer of an hydrangea stamp that I stamped all around the rectangle with Tumbled glass Distress ink.

Then on my working surface I mixed the Blueprint Sketch and Shaded Lilac Distress inks with water and I covered each hydrangea with these colours by tapping randomly with a brush. So the colors are mixed together.

I dried the image with the heat air gun, then I stamped the inside details of the flowers with the Blueprint Sketch Distress ink.

In a dark blue card stock I die cut a slimline rectangle slightly bigger than the image and I adhered it on a double slimline white card.

To finish I stamped and I heat embossed the sentiment, I glued some sequins then I flat adhered the image on the blue background.
