Less is More #373 – Friendship

Bonjour !

Hello !

For our first challenge of the month of June, we, at Less is More, propose you a very nice theme: friendship. I hope it will inspire you. We are also pleased to welcome Bev, our guest designer as well as the founder of Uniko who will be our sponsor this month.

1/ Friends are flowers in the garden of life

Lately I have lost inspiration for my cards. For this one I was inspired by the colours of the last challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. Then having recently received this beautiful die from MFT, I wanted to try it. I simply mask the inside of the window up to the stitched circle and I stamped the little flowers around.

I foam mounted this image on the double card. Then I stamped the sentiment inside the window.

I realize now that this card is may be not enough CAS according to the rules of Less is More. Well, I did a little better for the second card.

Stamp: Uniko “Originally organic & originally organic additions” – Die: MFT “Jumbo Peek-a-boo circle” – Inks: Catherine Pooler “Tiki torch, Grass skirt, Party dress” & Memento “Tuxedo Black”.

2/ I’m glad we’re friends

For this second card I chose this adorable pair of friends and I even made a OLC ! I really didn’t like making a OLC before, and now I’m having fun doing it !

I first stamped the 2 friends, once on the double card, and another time on a post-it note. I fussy cut the images of the post-it note and I used them as a mask for the images of the card. I also put a masking strip to make the sky and the grass, slightly blending inks.

Then I coloured the images with Promarkers and I stamped the sentiment in black.

Stamp: MFT “Snuggle bunnies” – Inks: Distress “Salty ocean & Twisted citron” & Memento “Tuxedo black” – Markers: Promarkers “Pink carnation, caramel, Arctic blue, lime green, Ice grey I”.

And Voilà for me ! No third card this time but you will find beautiful inspirations on the main blog HERE with my teammies’ cards. Thanks for your visit and all the lovely comments that you write. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you. See you very soon…

  1. I adore your first card, Izzy, so pretty the way you’ve stamped around that pretty die cut (I need some frames like this!) The colours are gorgeous and any friend would be delighted to receive it I’m sure. And you’re so right, we were both on the same wavelength with our cuties cards! Stamping, colouring, masking, blended background…wow! Great minds eh! xx

  2. What a pretty, delicate wreath, Isabelle … using colour on the line art adds such a lot to the light, airy feel of it! Those two little critters are adorable on your one layer card … fabulous colouring and blending on this sweet, fun and happy scene! Doesn’t look as though you’re in need of Monsieur Mojo at all! Bises et hugs, Anita 🙂

  3. Izzy, if this is you lacking inspiration, then please serve me up some of it! 😉 Two fantastic cards you’ve created here. The first is so pretty… great use of the die to frame the lovely sentiment . And I adore your second card… absolutely adorable! You continue to inspire each time. Have a wonderful week! xx

  4. Thanks so much for joining our Feminine Anything Goes challenge at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week. Your CAS designs are so wonderful and inspiring. I love the die you used to remove the center of your first card and the wonderful colours you’ve added to the wreath of flowers. Beautiful!

  5. LOVE how you have used the Originally Organics clear stamps, such a fun and creative design. Beautiful use of the CC&S challenge colours and always lovely to see you in the gallery too. Thanks for joining in on the fun and the Uniko shout out 🙂 Hugs Bev x

  6. Another stunning trio Izzy. Those Catherine Pooler inks look delicious and I’m definitely in awe at your stamping with them. Full of cheery delight. The first card is so pretty around the scalloped circle – a complete Uniko showcase of perfection. I’m soooo swooning over the second cutie though. What adorable little pals, coloured to perfection with your OLC little scene and the perfect way to feature friendship in your cards. x

  7. Oh I’m so glad someone else in the DT was worried about her card not being CAS enough this week too! We are in the same boat! However I see no lack of inspiration, I think both of your cards are as amazing as your cards always are! Love the stamping and die cutting in your first card and that sweet mini scene in your second card… LOVE! Have a great week!

  8. I think your first card is CAS enough but didn’t see the rules, but it would seem so to me so I hope you can enter it! And it’s very beautiful. I have this die and didn’t think to use it with a sentiment inside!! The placement of the flowers too is just perfect. So thank you for that inspiration Izzy – I shall revisit that die! And your second card is so adorable. The cute little friends in that super sweet scene. I don’t often make OLC’s either, usually I end up somehow getting a layer in somewhere. Your cards are always a joy to look at. Hope you have had a lovely weekend Izzy, and thanks for your comments over on my blog and for watching my videos, I appreciate it to very much, Lisa xx

  9. What a pretty first card. Love the layout and the die cut centre. The stamping is so beautiful. The second card is adorable Izzy, with great colouring and yes I am glad we are friends x

  10. Awesome cards as always, Isabelle! Love how you stamped the florals around the peek a boo window and fabulous use of the colours. Thanks for playing along with us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Please come with us soon.

  11. What a delightful pair of cards Izzy! Your first card is stunning and those colours look so great with those stamps. Love the new die too. And your second card is adorable, cute and so wonderfully CAS. Haha, we do end up loving those OLCs after a while, don’t we? Well it doesn’t look like you struggled for inspiration here, but I hope you feel like it all returns very soo. Have a great weekend xx
