K-Kingdom & Uniko – Butterflies Twofer Cards

Bonjour !

Hello !

How are you ? Today I’m coming back with two cards inspired by several ongoing challenges. It’s been a long time that I didn’t play my favourite game : to combine several challenges ! The Twofer Card Challenge gave me the theme, Inkspirational the colours choice for one of the cards, AAA Cards the design for the other one and Time OUT the choice of the sentiment.

Voici mes cartes / Here are my cards

1/ Bon anniversaire

I love this combo of colours purple and gold. To make these butterflies, I moistened a mixed media paper with a brush and water, then I sprinkled Brushos powder. I dried it. On my working mat, I put purple Distress ink and I sprayed water on it. I moistened  the parts without pigment and with a brush I made ink stains. I alternated Distress and Brushos and I dried from time to time between 2 layers up to obtain a pretty background for my butterflies. To finish, I made some splatters with gold ink. Once dry, I die cut the 3 butterflies.

On a white cardstock, slightly smaller than the double card, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and I heat embossed with gold powder. I masked the right part and I made purple and gold splatters over the left part.

I adhered a golden sheet of paper under this panel before gluing it over the double card. Then to finish I adhered the butterflies with a dot of glue only on the body to let the wings free.

: Joyeux Anniversaire Sandie !

2/ Friends are flowers in the garden of life

You may not have noticed on the first card, but the particularity of these dies is that they cut (normal !) but they also emboss. That’s what I did for this second card. I die cut the butterfly into watercolour paper and then I dry embossed it to bring out the patterns that I had fun watercolouring.

To make the colour pink/red pops up even more, I coloured the outlines of the patterns with a black marker then I added some white dots with a pencil.

On a double Kraft card, I stamped the flower and the sentiment with Versamark and I heat embossed with white powder. I drew a dotted frame with a white pencil. And then to finish I adhered the butterfly on top of it with a glue dot.

Stamp: Uniko “Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum” & “Originally organic” (sentiment) – Dies: K-Kingdom “Butterflies” – Inks: Distress “Picked Raspberry”, Catherine Pooler “Rockin’Red” – Embellishment: Hero Arts EP “White”, Uniball “White”, Fabrico marker “black”.

  1. Two beauties in their own right – and a fabulous twofer too. The first is so ethereal with those soft colors and light splatters. And the second is so bold and beautiful. I love how you concentrated on making that flutterby the star of the show. Thanks for joining us at CUTplorations this month.

  2. Two fantastic cards using this butterfly! I love the white heat embossed flower on kraft, so pretty… And the butterfly adds a lot of dimension and interest. Yet the look is very CAS and stylish! Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT!

  3. Really love the purple butterflies with the splatters. Gorgeous clean and simple card – wondering how “clean” a card and workspace are when you have splatters – LOL! Thank you for joining us at STAMPlorations CAS.

And you are using your brushos again, and once again, I feel bad that mine have not come out of the cupboard for months!! I really wish I could do CAS like you, I find it so hard, and I admire you so much that you make a card look so beautiful without completely covering it! The second card is also stunning, gorgeous design, love the white, kraft and red together. And your patience for dotting all the way around the card,! Bravo! Looks fab.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my card last night too. Don’t worry that you don’t get time, I know the feeling! I appreciate you even visiting, Lisa xx
