Bonjour !
Hello !
It is true that according to the calendar it’s spring, but when I see this grey, cold and rainy weather I find it hard to believe! In one of my last posts, I showed you photos of cherry trees in bloom and, with all this rain, these pretty flowers have disappeared! So I wanted to make a card to illustrate this beautiful image I still have in mind!
It was also the opportunity to use for the first time the Brushos I bought during the Sales and to do a little bit of smooshing ! I first made a double card with watercolour paper. I put masking tape to make a frame and then I made the sky inside the frame with a blue Brusho. On another watercolour paper I put pink Brusho, I dried it with the heat gun before cutting out the cherry blossoms with a punch. Finally, on another sheet of watercolour paper, I mixed green and brown Distress inks, then I cut the branch with a die cut.
I embellished the cherry blossoms by drawing the heart and pistil with colour pencils and a white gel pencil. Then I delicately bent the petals to give them a little dimension. I then glued the branch on the double card and then the flowers one by one. To finish, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and I heat embossed it with clear powder.
And Voilà ! For a first try with the Brushos, I’m rather happy with the result. May be the sky is a little bit too dark but I did not have Brusho with a softer blue.

Izzy this is simply spectacular! I certainly know what you mean about those blossoms disappearing in the rain – I’m hoping the ones in my garden will cling on for now as they’re so pretty. You’ve certainly worked some brusho magic here and your card has the WOW factor for CAS detail and technique. Thanks for playing along with us at AAA Cards and Uniko this week. Sarah x

Your Brusho turned out beautifully! I have yet to use it on images – I have only created panels of colour with mine and then die cut shapes, or used them as backgrounds! Your cherry blossom look beautiful – especially with the little pencil accents and gel dots. Such a pretty card and perfect for the Spring weather we are now finally having! Hugs, Lisa x
Thanks so much Lisa !
