Carte/Card

Uniko – Une tasse de thé / A cup of tea

Bonjour !

Super !

Hello !

The “wonderful” today’s weather (I don’t know for you but here there is a lot of wind and it hails !) enabled me to do a new card. I had a look on the net to see the latest challenges. And I fell in admiration with the latest challenge from Less is More : mainly teal ! Great ! Moreover I just received my order from Uniko and I was just in a hurry : to play with it ! Only the sketch was missing…but I remembered a card that Esther has made some weeks ago and from which I loved the design. I invite you to visit her blog since she is for me a great source of inspiration ! I let you discover her wonderful talent !

Voici ma carte / Here is my card :

This cup reminds me the tea sets as the one my grand-mother had, in fine porcelaine delicately painted and golden inside. I then tried to reproduce this remembrance.

Following Esther‘s design, I directly stamped on the double card the flowers with the Misti and some masks. Then I made the strip on the right side with a stamp. On another white cardstock previously cut at the right size and on which I’ve made the stitched borders with a die, I stamped the cup. Then, with a mask, I made the little flowers on the cup. The golden embellishments are made with paint and a brush.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in two steps and again with a mask. The golden part has been heat embossed. And Voilà ! I loved “to play” with the Uniko stamps. What I particularly love is that Bev often creates a large model motif and makes the same one in a smaller size, like here for these flowers.

  1. Simply stunning Izzy. Love your colour choice and that gold is spectacular. Thanks for joining in our CAS Challenge at STAMPlorations.

  2. How beautiful! I love the colors you used and the floral border you stamped -I also have the flower stamp set but haven’t used it yet, I find the layering a bit difficult, however your card has given me a lot of inspiration again and I should give this stamp set a go!

  3. I would love to have a cup (or several) of tea with you! I have the impression that we would find lots to talk about!
Both of those sets are in my possession and I love how you used them! The golden accents are so beautiful!

  4. You captured the elegance of fine porcelaine wonderfully here, Isabelle … this is beautiful … and is similar to tea services my grandmother had too! The colour combination of aqua and gold on those delicate flowers is superb … and the masked/stamped border is such a lovely complement to the main image! Such a joy! Bises, Anita 🙂

  5. This is such an elegant card Izzy, a really beautiful choice of colours. I know that teal was the starting point, but the gold looks fabulous with it! You have captured the essence of those beautiful porcelein cups perfectly. It makes me want to go and buy a set!!! And your patient masking of the background… I am lazy about masking but I love how it ends up looking. I must persevere!! You really do create the most beautiful cards. Thank you so much for sharing them with us, hugs, Lisa
