Bonjour !
Hello !
I hope you enjoyed your week_end ! Who says week-end, also says new challenges ! Less is More challenge inspired me for this card ! It is to make a One Layer card (i.e without die cut, without embellishment, without foam…) so a flat card ! The theme : Your favorite flower.
The lotus is one of my favorite flowers. In fact, the hydrangea is my favorite flower, but I do not (yet) have any stamp of this flower, only dies ! The lotus is a very majestic flower on its long stems, its huge leaves with their bowl shape collect water. I find that watching a lotus “field” is soothing, very zen !
To make this card, I used a double card made with watercolor paper and the layer stamp from Altenew. I only used the outlines stamp. Then with a brush I watercolored the inside with Distress inks. I used the masking technique in order not to stamp over the flowers or leaves already watercolored.
To finish I just stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink.
I am far from being a pro in watercoloring, but I like the result. Even with one layer and the masking technique, we get to give depth to the image and thus to make a CAS card.
Thank you for visiting, I hope this card will please you as much as it pleases me ( and that it will please whom it is destined !). I wish you a good (crafty !) week and see you soon !

You’ve coloured your lotus flowers beautifully, great work with your Distress Inks. Such a shame you’ve linked up to too many challenges but a wonderful example of a floral one layer.

This is an absolutely wonderful bloom. Awesome colouring and just fabulous on the one layer. As Esther mentioned we do have a limit of 5 challenge link ups including our own and I think you may have just exceeded that here. Thanks for sharing with us though at Less is More this week. Sarah

Thank you so much Esther for your comment ! I’m very sorry to have presented my card in too many challenges. You can remove it from the Less is More challenge, I don’t want to be disrespectful towards the other participants. Sorry again !
