Addicted to Stamps and More #419 – Any occasion

Bonjour !

J’espère que vous avez apprécié notre dernier défi chez Addicted to Stamp and More et que vous êtes prêts pour le nouveau…

Hello !

I hope that you’ve enjoyed our last challenge over at Addicted to Stamp and More and that you are now ready for the new one…

Voici ma carte / Here is my card

Update: Happy and honoured to be one of the Top 3 at CAS Mix Up challenge.

Not very hard to find an occasion in this time of the year, and this card will come and complete my Christmas cards stash.

I found my inspiration within two ongoing challenges (it’s been a long time !) : CAS Mix Up for the technique and Color Hues for the colours.

So I used the “Stencil Monoprint” technique (you can see a tutorial of this technique HERE on the CAS Mix Up blog) to make the background of the card. We cannot say that it is perfect and that we see the two colours silver and gold but in fact it is this imperfection that I liked because it really looks like a snowstorm.

Moreover, the two inks that I used do not necessarily lend themselves well to this technique, but I wanted to try. One thing is certain, silver ink mixes better with water than gold ink.

To make my shaker card, I die cut the tree shapes in this background panel then once again in gold and silver papers. Then I stamped the sentiment with the two gold and silver inks.

On the back of the panel, I adhered a piece of acetate to make the window of the shaker card, then on the front, I glued the die cut silver and gold trees.

On the double silver card, I adhered a piece of white paper so that the gold and silver sequins are better distinguished. Then on the back of the panel I glued some foam tape before adhering it on the card on top of the sequins.
