Hello !

It’s Saturday and at Less is More it’s the last challenge of September. This challenge is a little bit different that the others since today we have selected a mandatory element to put on your card and you have to choose another one among the following list : gloss, matt, pearl or chalky.

We also say goodbye to Visible Image who has been our sponsor throughout the month of September.

Voici mes cartes…/Here are my cards…

1/ Have a BEARY good year

You may not see it very well on the above picture, but for this card I associated sparkle + gloss.

I started by doing the background with alcohol inks and water (as for THIS card), then I let it dry. On a post-it note, I drew the shape of a body of water then I fussy cut it and I used it as a mask on the background. I made a gradient of blues with Distress inks to make the sky.

I removed the post-it note and I used the upper part, this time to mask the sky. Then I put some Diamond Glaze (kind of Glossy Accent) on the body of water so that, once dry it looks like an ice rink (I really like the lighter part, it looks like the reflection of the moon on the ice). I let it dry.

Meanwhile, I blended some yellow ink on a scrap of paper and I die cut a moon and stars. Then I put some yellow glitter on it and I let them dry.

I stamped the bear on a scrap of white paper, then I coloured with colour pencils and I fussy cut it. I also put some glitter on its scarf and its boots. On its body I brush some Wink of Stella.

I die cut a frame (x2), I glued the moon and the stars on the background, then I adhered the frame on top. I cut out everything that went beyond and I adhered this image on the double white card.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in blue. The part in red doesn’t exist in this set of stamps, so I wrote it with a red fine liner. Then I foam mounted the bear.

2/ Believe you can

Update : Happy and Honoured to be one of the Honourable Mentions over at CASology.

Happy and Honoured to be one of the winners over at STAMPlorations.

For this card, I chose to combine matt with sparkle. I’ve been inspired by the new challenge over at Time Out with its theme about Breast Cancer Awareness, by the AAA CAS card challenge and by the CASology one.

I used a die to cut the shape of my card. I masked with two stripes of masking tape and I made a pink gradient with Distress Oxide inks.

I die cut a dragonfly in a glittery paper then I die cut it again in the inked stripe taking care to keep every die cut parts.

On the back of the support, I put Scotch above the aperture of the die cut, I turned it back and I placed back the glittery dragonfly and the pieces of the die cut.

I stamped the sentiment in grey then I foam mounted this panel on the double white card.

Stamps:  CAS-ual Fridays “Calm and gentle” – Die: STAMPlorations “Dragonfly”  – Inks : Distress Oxide “Spun sugar, Worn lipstick, Picked raspberry”.

And Voilà for me ! I hope that my cards will inspire you and that you will come and play with us. Of course your cards have to be CAS, that is to say with a lot of blank space, without nothing. You will find beautiful inspirations on the main blog HERE with my teamies’ cards. Thanks for your visit and all the lovely comments that you write. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you. See you very soon…
