MFT, Uniko & Create a Smile – Cards for my Christmas boxes

Bonjour !

Hello !

For Christmas, in addition to the “wished” gift, I usually make surprise boxes for my son, my daughter and for hubby. In these boxes I put small surprise gifts that I pack and that I number, as well as a card. On this card, in front of the number I write a word, a phrase that gives a clue to the gift and they have to guess what’s inside. These are the three cards for these boxes that I show you today !

Pour ma fille / For my daughter

Update : Happy and honoured to be one of the top 3 over at Crazy for CAS challenge.

To make this card I get inspired by the CAS Christmas challenge with the theme “Stars”.

To start, I die cut an arch in white paper. I took over the color combo used for THIS card. I first stamped and gold heat embossed the evening star and I then masked it to stamp the garland of stars.

Then I used the Emboss Resist technique to blend the different Distress inks. I also put some Stickles drops to give even more shine.

On a double white card I stamped the garland of stars with a gold ink. Then I stamped the sentiment, one part in blue and I gold heat embossed the word “Star”. I adhered the starry arch over the garland of stars.

On a white paper I stamped this adorable cub and I coloured it with pencils. I fussy cut it and I foam mounted it on the card.

Update : Happy and honoured to be in Toni’s mailbox over at Cards in Envy

For this card I get inspired by the current challenge at Create a Smile and above all the stunning card from Trina (see HERE) and I CASEd it.

Although he is a little old for this kind of card, I fell for this adorable turtle, on the one hand because he loves turtles and on the other hand, like any self-respecting teenager he always wears his headset on the head !

It is a One Layer Card, so I used the masking technique to stamp the gifts and the tree as well as for making the blended Distress inks background.

The turtle, the tree and the gifts are coloured with pencils. I stamped the sentiment in black and I made the falling snow with white acrylic paint.

Stamps : Create a Smile “Oh Christmas tree” & “Furry & Bright” –  Inks: Distress ”Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feather, Mermaid Lagoon” – Colour Pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos “#102, 108, 154, 156, 166, 171, 186, 187, 188, 190, 219, 263, 266, 270, 272, 273”.

Pour mon mari / For hubby

For this card I used this other adorable set from Create a Smile. Not only the images are cute but I also love the sentiments !

I kept a very sober design by using a double kraft card and the combo of colours I particularly love this season, turquoise blue and red.

I simply stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment over a red strip of paper that I glued over the double kraft card.

I stamped the images over white paper, I coloured them with colour pencils and I fussy cut them to adhere them on the card.

Stamps : Create a Smile “Secret ingredient” –  Colour Pencils : Faber-Castell Polychromos “#132, 154, 156, 219, 231, 232, 251”.
