Carte/Card

Uniko – Moment cocooning

Bonjour !

Hello !

A quick post before the ending of one of the challenges. One more time I get inspired by a combo of challenges to make this card. The sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches and the cue words from Inkspirational and Time Out challenges.

Voici ma carte / here is my card

I started with the Inkspirational cue word “Comfort” and its different definitions : cosiness, solace, well-being, consolation.

And if you think about it, there is one thing for me that brings all these different senses together, it’s a cozy plaid and a delicious hot cup of tea or chocolate !

The sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches was perfect to illustrate these two elements. I first made a plaid with a stencil that I used horizontally and vertically with two colours. Then I die cut a scalloped and stitched rectangle which reminds the edges of a blanket.

Time OUT challenge asks for colour, so to add even more colour after the plaid, I stamped the cup in dark yellow. Then, using masks, I coloured it with Distress inks and I added the white dots with a stamp, Versamark ink and white embossing powder.

I cut a part of the plaid and I adhered it on a double white card. I fussy cut the cup and I foam mounted it. Finally I stamped and black heat embossed the sentiment.

And Voilà ! A very quick card to make and that makes me want to go and prepare a cup of tea ! Thank you for your visit and all the lovely comments that you write. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you. See you very soon…
