1/ Happy Birthday

I made this first card very simple, I put the stencil over the double white card and I brushed Distress inks on top of it. I stamped the sentiment in black and to finish the card I added some sequins !

Stamps:  Uniko “Birthday sentiments” – Stencil: Heidi Swapp “flower”  – Inks : Distress “Spiced marmalade, Peeled paint”.

For this second card, I chose a design a little bit “grunge” ! On a watercolour paper previously moistened with a brush and water, I sprinkled some Brushos pigments and sprayed water over it. I dried with the heat gun. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment.

On another piece of watercolour paper, I stamped in black and heat embossed the glass. Then I stamped the olive in green and I heat embossed. The orange slice is also stamped in orange and heat embossed. Embossing enabled me to watercolour the different elements with Distress and water. Then I fussy cut them.

I covered the top of the double card with an orange card stock, then I adhered the watercolour panel on top of it. To finish, I foam mounted the glass and the orange slice.

A good cold drink when it’s hot, that’s happiness !

Stamps:  SSS “Adult beverages”, Simply Graphic “Planche cocooning et son die” (sentiment) –  Inks : Distress “Spiced marmalade, Peeled paint” – Brushos: “Olive green”.

3/ Heureux anniversaire

I suddenly remembered that I had recently received these lovely slices of citrus and it made me want to make a juicy card !

One of my friends is celebrating her birthday very soon and I know she loves this combo of colours and that kind of background ! So, neither one nor two, I used Loll’s “Splash Watercolouring” technique in the current challenge at CAS watercolour to make my background.

Then I die cut the two slices of citrus in orange and green card stocks and I die cut a trio of Scandinavian wild grass (she loves them !) in a white card stock.

I stamped the sentiment in grey over the double white card, I foam mounted the watercolour background and I glued the wild grass and the citrus on top of it !

Dies:  4enScrap “Tranches d’agrumes”, Simply Graphic “Trio scandinave” –  Inks : Distress “Spiced marmalade, Peeled paint” – Stamp:  Simply Graphic “planche anniversaire” (sentiment).

  11. Wow Izzy, what a stunning trio of cards! That first card which you’ve stencilled is so beautifully clean and simple and makes wonderful use of the colours in your colour challenge. Love the way you’ve kept it to a single layer, simply stamping the sentiment. And of course, those sequins add just the right dazzle. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  12. The stencilling and colours on your first card is so pretty and absolutely CAS perfection. Love the grunge effect on your second card with those glorious brusho’s….Looks like how one might feel after a couple of those gin and tonics x. The splash technique is fabulous on the third card and is a wonderful background for those fun citrus fruits…also like how you did the additional die cuts in the white. Enjoyed reading your post and such stunning inspiration….Thank you x

  13. Oh my goodness! Another superb selection of fantastic cards from you Izzy. I can’t get enough of looking at that stunning brushos card!!! I’m not sure if it the artiness, the look of depth in that panel or the tangerine card base that keeps pulling me back to that one but I adore it. Your stencilling is super soft and feminine and the background behind the citrus images looks like you’ve just squeezed their juice. Fabulous! Have a great week xx

  14. Such artistic cards from you Izzy, you’ve really brought this color combo alive! I love your use of dies in the last card -such a pretty, layered CAS look. Your grungy brusho card is super fun too. Well done keeping the colors so fresh -I tend to use too much water with my brushos and the colors turn into mud! 🙂 Love the soft stenciling in your first card too. xxx
