Bonjour !
Hourra !
Hello !
Hooray ! It’s party time today over at Less is More ! Indeed, we are celebrating the 7 years of the challenge blog ! For this occasion, this month, we will welcome 2 sponsors (1 per challenge), there will be prizes and special Guest Designers….but I let you go and discover what the fun is over the main blog HERE !
And as a birthday is a happy event, we could not find better than the theme of this first fortnight: MUSIC !
We are delighted to welcome Uniko back as our sponsor for the first festive challenge !
1/ Life is a song, love is the music
February will also be a new release month over at Uniko and Bev gave me permission to showcase one of the sets of this release…Thanks Bev !
Do not take into account the size of the images on this card, having only the digital files, I could enlarge and / or reduce the size at my discretion.
One more time Bev has designed a beautiful set and I love this font !
The only thing I added that is not part of the set is the little heart that I pasted as a note.
You will have the pleasure to find this beautiful stamps set in the February 2018 release, so keep an eye on the Uniko blog !
2/ Joyeux Anniversaire
Since it’s a birthday, then better to sing it loudly and clearly and accompanied by a piano music it’s even better !
This card is only made with NBUS products. Last year at the time of the January sales I’d found, for a ridiculously cheap price, the piano keyboard embossing folder. Then I embossed the bottom part of the double card and with a black marker I coloured the piano keys.
I also had in my stash a die with musical motifs. I then used it on a white cardstock and I coloured each note with markers. To finish I adhered them on the card.
Stamp: Simply Graphic “planche Anniversaire” – Die: MB “Musical motifs” – Markers: Fabrico “115, 112, 114, 110, 118” – Embossing folder: Aladine ref. 09006.
3/ Happy birthday
To finish with a charming note, I found in my stash this adorable owl with her headphones on the head and who is whistling a song….I’m sure that’s the “Happy Birthday” song !
I didn’t know exactly the design I wanted to use for this image and I suddenly remembered that Trina, my talented teamy, has the nose to make little scene with adorable critters, so I get inspired (I still have a lot of work !) with her beautiful backgrounds. Thanks Trina ! For the colours, I used those of the last challenge of Colour Throwdown.
I first stamped and black heat embossed the image directly over the double card. I masked it to make the background with Distress inks. Then I coloured it with colour pencils. I die cut the word “Happy” and I coloured each letter with Distress inks, then I glued it over the double card.
I had fun with the sentiment “birthday” by changing the letter “b” with a musical note. On the contrary, I didn’t had fun at all with the group of notes. Oddly (I understand now why this stamp set was so cheap !) the notes were all upside down (i.e in the same direction than the one I used for the letter “b”). So I had to stamp them first on a mirror stamp and then I stamped the mirror over the card !
To finish, I put a little bit of shimmer over the word “Happy” and over the bow of the owl with a Wink of Stella brush.
Stamp: Craft sensations, Uniko “Happy succulent” (sentiment) – Die: STAMPlorations “happy” – Pencils: Faber-Castell Polychromos “106, 109, 123, 125, 128, 154, 171, 185” – Inks: Distress “Tumbled glass, Twisted citron, Mustard seed, Picked raspberry”.
Challenge:
Color Throwdown #478 : Hot Pink, Lime Green, Yellow and Pale Blue

Three wonderful cards! I especially love the graphic, “grown-up” look of the first card and then again the fun, young, cute feel of the third card! You are such versatile card maker! I have to remember that Color Throwdown color scheme for future, I love the bright look (love the multi-colored sentiment!). Thanks for your email, I enjoyed reading it, I’ll make sure to answer you soon! xxx
Oh, you have some great stuff in your stash, Izzy. The new Uniko stamps look fab and I love how clean your card is with the pops of red. What a great embossing folder that piano is too, love the bright colours you’ve added to the black and white of the keys. And that owl is just too cute, great work with mirroring those notes, you would never know xx
Three delightful cards Izzy! You seem to have a die in your stash for every occasion, that little music notes one is so cute! And when we buy these things, we never quite know when we will need them, and then voila, they become perfect for the card in mind! Your little scene is so sweet with the owl and her headphones. I always admire anyone that can put a scene together – I find them hard, and I adore the little scenes like this one. They make for perfect CAS cards. Have a wonderful weekend my friend, hope the weather is kind to you and you have some crafting time, Lisa xx
I knew I was in for a trio treat from you Izzy and you definitely did not disappoint. That first card with a sneak peek of Uniko’s February release looks fabulous, especially with the added music note. Your embossed piano keys on your second card looks so cool. Way to use all NBUS. And your third card is simply adorable. You created the perfect little scene. Thank you for your kind words. Have a great day! xx
Your musical cards are fantastic and fun! Looks like a must-have set from Uniko! Love the colors on the second card and the third one is adorable!
Wow, what a trio, Isabelle … as always, so wonderfully creative! I can almost hear the first one, the sense of musical movement is brilliant and that tiny heart note is the perfect addition! Fantastic piano … love the cool, crisp black and white with the tiny pops of colour in the notes! That little owl is adorable … delicious colouring … and such a clever idea to make the b in birthday a note … fabulous detailing! Reste chaude! Hugs & bises, Anita 🙂
On my you have been busy. Love, love, love these cards!
Love the flow of the music image on the first card and because it’s a Digi you can change the size. The font is fabulous. Great keyboard embossing folder on the second card, such fun. Talking about fun your third card is so cute and yes she must be singing Happy Birthday. Fun idea to change the b to a musical note and so glad you kept going with it. Thank you for the inspiration on all your cards x
Perfect inspiration from you again this week Izzy! That new Uniko stamp is fabulous and your pop of red really brings that card to life. Wow! What an amazing embossing folder on your second card – I do hope we see you use it, and those musical dies, again because that card is superb! Your cute little owl is adorable and well done for taking inspiration from Trina – your background looks fab xx

These are all so cute and clever Izzy I don’t know where to start. I’m in awe of how you’ve used the Uniko digital file and it’s so CAS but so effective. Your embossed piano keyboard is inspired and works just brilliantly – again superbly neat and CAS. Then that cute little owl – simply adorably, coloured beautifully and the little scene is just perfect. Thanks as always for such wonderful inspiration and enjoy your weekend. x
