Bonjour !
Hello !
Today I present a card inspired by the new Less is More Colour Challenge, which theme is “Colours found in a peacock’s feather”.
Google is my friend, so I went to see images of peacock feathers. What a wonder of nature when you think about it ! Mister is sure to please Madame with a dress of such splendor !
I had in my stack a clear stamp set with feathers that I had never used yet (as many others !). Though we are not obliged to use a stamp with a peacock feather but only the colors, I wanted to play with this set and the emboss resist technique which consists in heat embossing the image first and then in applying some inks, watercolors or others.
So I stamped the different feathers on a white paper (thanks MISTI !) and then I heat embossed with antique gold powder. Next I applied Distress inks to create a nice gradient with the peacock’s colors.
I did the same for the sentiment that I glued on a piece of golden paper.
I die cut the image with a stitched rectangle die, next I glued a rectangle of foam on the back of it (more solid for snail mail) and then I mounted it on the white double card. The sentiment is also adhered with foam tape (1mm).
And Voilà ! I think that gold goes very well with those colors gradient. Personally, I adore !
Thanks for coming by, and see you soon I hope !
