Addicted to Stamps and More #415 – Die Cuts and Stencils

Bonjour !

Déjà deux semaines de passées, alors un nouveau défi commence aujourd’hui chez Addicted to Stamp and More avec le thème…

Hello !

Two weeks have already passed, so a new challenge begins today at Addicted to Stamp and More with the theme …

This is about making a card using either stencils or cutting dies. As far as I’m concerned, I chose to use both !

I wanted to make a birthday card for a friend who loves butterflies so I took out my favourite bundle of butterflies and its matching dies from Uniko. And I have imagined them fluttering around a flower, so what better than these wonderful Uniko’s stencils with big florals.

On a white square card stock I simply made the outlines of the stencil flower with a black fine liner and I stamped and I heat embossed the sentiment. Then I foam mounted this image on the double green card.

On a white card stock I stamped 3 butterflies then I coloured them with colour pencils.

They are new colour pencils that I bought at Action, for those who know this shop. Honestly, for the price (2,29Euros the box of 18 pencils), they are quite good. The texture of the lead is between the one of the Polychromos and the one of the Prismacolor. And they have pretty hues. I will now close my comments on these pencils.

To finish my card, I cut the butterflies with the matching dies and I adhered them on the card with Glue Dots.

Et voilà ! Although it is already autumn, I still saw a butterfly in our garden this weekend. Do not forget to go and see the wonderful inspirational cards of my teamies on the main blog HERE and on their respective blog where you can leave them a nice comment ! 😉

  1. Such a great use of stencils and die cuts Izzy! I love that you outlined rather than colour the pretty flower and allowed the butterflies to take centre stage. Gorgeous!
I hope you are having a good weekend. Take care.
    Hugs
