Less is More #437 – Flowers

Bonjour !

Hello !

It’s Saturday and at Less is More it’s the last challenge for February. We have therefore reserved the best for you for the end with a One layer card and the theme : Flowers.

And to go with the chocolates of the last fortnight, what’s better than flowers ?

Chrissie and Mandi, are still with us as guests designers. You will be delighted with their wonderful cards ! Do go and visit their blogs and leave them a nice comment.

Voici ma carte / Here is my card

Update: Happy and honoured to be one of the Top Picks at Krafty Chicks.

When it comes to a one layer card, it is difficult to use markers or even certain inks without them going through the paper. So I opted for a safe bet: coloured pencils and no line colouring !

I stamped the poppies with a very soft pink ink and I coloured with my new colour pencils.

Then to finish I simply stamped the sentiment in black.

Stamp: Create a Smile “Pure poppies”, Altenew “Fresh freesia” (sentiment) – Inks: Altenew “Frosty pink” – Colour Pencils: Prismacolor “#PC921, 922, 122, 923, 924, 1004, 1005, 1097”.

And Voilà ! And to think that a few years ago one layer cards were a nightmare for me, but thanks to Less is More I ended up really enjoying making them. You will find my teamies’ creations and all the information concerning the 10th birthday of Less is More on the main blog HERE .

Thank you for your visit and feel free to leave me a comment, I am always delighted to hear from you. Have a nice weekend and see you soon ! 😉

  1. Izzy your poppies are beautiful! An excellent example of no-line colouring and I was super-surprised to read you’d achieved this with pencils. I’ve never tried using pencils for this technique but will definitely have a go and hope for equally impressive results!

  2. Using that soft pink ink so that the lines did not show when you coloured with your pencils is a beautiful technique – (distress ink in antique linen also works well with this technique). You’ve made an excellent job of your colouring, it looks like a painting! Many thanks for joining us at We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge xxxx

  3. A really super CAS card with a great image and choice of colours. Thank you for joining our Flowers, Butterflies Birds challenge at We Love Chocolate Baroque.

  4. I too, was so intimidated by the dreaded OLC years ago, and now I often create cards this way without being challenged to do it! Your card is beautiful. Your coloring skills never cease to amaze me. I used my new Prismacolor pencils for my card – this is my first foray into the pencil world. I only hope I can get half as good as you are at this technique. Thanks always for your wonderful inspiration.

  5. Beautiful card Izzy. The colouring is perfect. I well remember being terrified of the OLC, now I find myself making more and more of them by choice.
