June 2018 Uniko Design Team Blog Hop

Bonjour !

Hello !

June is a non-release month at Uniko which means that Bev chose “old” products that deserve to be back in the spotlight ! And for that today begins a new Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway at Uniko, with projects from the DT with the following products…

…Beautiful Blooms I et la matrice correspondante, II & III.

…Beautiful Blooms I and the matching die, II & III.

Bonne chance !

Anyway, be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win one of these stamp sets. You have until Midnight (GMT) Monday 18th June 2018 to comment. Good luck !

As I said in my previous post, inspiration lately misses me so I took inspiration from the latest Flower Challenge for the first card and the great talent of my friend Lisa of My Card Trip for the second.

1/ Beautiful Blooms III

In the last challenge of The Flower Challenge, it is about using one of the previous challenges, for this card I get inspired by the challenge # 5 and therefore the wonderful card of Therese from Lost in Paper.

Je me suis concentrée sur:

  • la couleur rose
  • les 2 fleurs et les feuilles
  • le sentiment avec une découpe
  • le sentiment coloré à moitié

I focus on :

  • the rose colour
  • the 2 flowers and the leaves
  • the sentiment with a die cut
  • the half-coloured sentiment

I die cut a rectangle in multimedia paper. Then I tried a new technique (for me!) that I have often seen but never tried. The set Beautiful Blooms III is composed of layering stamps, which allowed me to do this technique. I started with the first stamp in a soft pink, I put the ink on the stamp and I sprayed a bit of water on it and then I stamped. I left a few seconds for the wet ink to permeate the paper. Then I dried. I started the operation again with the second layer and the second color and so on until I got the flower arrangement you see.

In a piece of the same paper that I tinted with a mixture of soft pink, purple and water, I die cut the sentiment. I cut it two more times and I stuck them on top of each other.

Then I adhered the image on a double grey card in order it pops up even more. I glued the sentiment and to finish I added some jewels.

Stamps:  Uniko “Beautiful Blooms III”, “Happy Succulents” (sentiment) – Embellishment : Little things from Lucy’s cards Jewels “Rainbow Sparkle Mix” – Inks : Catherine Pooler “It’s a girl, Party Dress, Flirty fuchsia, Lime grey, Grass skirt” – Die : STAMplorations “Happy word”.
Challenges:
The Flower Challenge #21 : Use a previous challenge (as explained in the post, I used challenge #5)
The Watercooler wednesday challenge #173: Tenia’s feminine anything goes challenge
Seize the birthday : anything goes
Happy Little Stampers June Watercolour challenge : anything goes (without the optional twist)

2/ Beautiful Blooms I

For this card I got totally inspired by the beautiful card that I CASEd, see HERE, of the talented Lisa of My Card Trip. I urge you to visit her blog and to enjoy all the wonderful cards she makes and leave her a nice comment !

On a double white card I put the stencil Lattice and I coloured in blue. Then I die cut the frame (x3) and I glued it over the double card.

On a multimedia paper I wanted to try the same technique than the previous card although the stamp is not a layering stamp. Then I stamped once the images with ink spritzed with water, I dried with the heat gun and I stamped a second time with the same colour but without having sprayed with water.

I die cut the flowers and the leaves with the matching dies and I mounted the different elements with adhesive foam of different thicknesses. And to finish I stamped the sentiment.

Stamps:  Uniko “Beautiful Blooms I”, “Flower Power #2” (sentiment) – Die : MFT “Stitched square scallop” – Inks : Catherine Pooler “Tiki torch, Party Dress, Lime grey, Grass skirt”.

And Voilà ! Don’t forget to leave comments as you go round the hop and who knows, you could be the lucky winner !
