I will start the day with a card for the new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club…

World Ocean Day

Pour ce défi, nous avons le plaisir d’accueillir la talentueuse Mac Mable de The Sweetest of Peas, notre gagnante du 38ème défi, en tant qu’invité créative. Je suis sure que vous la connaissez déjà car elle a pour habitude de nous éblouir avec ces magnifiques oeuvres. Sa carte d’aujourd’hui en est encore la preuve ! For this challenge, we are thrilled to welcome the very talented Mac Mable from The Sweetest of Peas, our winner for the 38th challenge, as our Guest Designer. I’m sure you already know her since she is used to stun us with her gorgeous pieces of art. Her today’s card is further proof ! Feel free to go and admire her blog and leave her a nice comment.

Voici ma carte / Here is my card

Il y a longtemps déjà, j’ai fait des fonds en utilisant la technique des encres à alcool dans l’eau. Il se trouve qu’en mettant quelques gouttes d’encre à alcool dans un récipient d’eau, elles vont flotter essentiellement en surface, donc en plongeant un papier (surface poreuse, surtout pas Yupo) dans l’eau, l’encre va s’accrocher au papier et donner un aspect marbré.

A long time ago, I made some background using the alcohol ink floating technique. It turns out that by putting a few drops of alcohol ink in a container of water, they will essentially float on the surface, so by dipping a paper (porous surface, not Yupo) in water, the ink will cling to the paper and give a marble appearance.

Donc sur un de ces fonds, j’ai mis un pochoir et j’ai passé dessus une fine couche de couleur bleu pour faire les vagues de l’océan.

So, on one of these backgrounds, I put a stencil and I brushed a thin layer of blue ink to make the ocean waves.

J’ai ensuite découpé un carré aux angles arrondis avec une matrice, puis je l’ai collé sur la double carte blanche avec de la mousse adhésive.

Then I die cut a square with rounded angles and I foam mounted it on a double white card.

Dans du papier blanc, j’ai découpé (x3) le voilier avec une matrice, je les ai collés ensemble pour plus d’épaisseur et je les ai collés sur le fond bleu.

In a white card stock I die cut (x3) the sailing boat, I glued them together for more thickness and I adhered them on the blue background.

Pour finir, j’ai tamponné le sentiment en bleu.

To finish, I stamped the sentiment in blue.
