Addicted to Stamps and More #400 – Die Cuts and Stencils

Bonjour !

Me revoilà pour un nouveau défi chez Addicted to Stamp and More avec un tout nouveau thème…

Hello !

Here I am with a new challenge over at Addicted to Stamp and More and a very new theme…

This is about making a card using either stencils or cutting dies. As far as I’m concerned, I chose to use both !

Happy and honoured to be one of the DT Favourites at Love to Scrap.

At the beginning I didn’t know yet what I would use : stencil or die cuts ? Then I saw on my desk this stencilled background made a long time ago but that I had ultimately not used.

After that everything came naturally ! As you know I love blue and I love sea, so I just had to take out the dies that have a relationship with the sea and voila !

So I die cut the outline of a porthole in white paper (which I arranged in my “own sauce” because normally there are some fishes), then I stuck to the back some Vellum paper. I then die cut the sailboat out of white paper and red paper to keep only one sail.

I flat adhered the stencilled background on a white card stock, then I glued the porthole and the sailboat.

To finish, I cut a stripe of blue paper with a “wavy” die and I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment on top. I adhered it on the card.

Et voilà ! I don’t know about you but that’s really what I’m feeling right now: leaving and taking some fresh air ! And do not forget to go and see the wonderful inspirational cards of my teamies on the main blog HERE and on their respective blog where you can leave them a nice comment ! 😉
