Carte/Card

Stamplorations & Uniko – Twofer cards Fruit

Bonjour !

Hello !

Just in time for the Twofer Cards challenge and its theme Fruit. Since I saw the theme I had these two cards running around in my head but I didn’t have time to make them earlier !

I had bought this set of stamps (NBUS) because it made it possible to make very different cards. This challenge finally allowed me to use it, thank you Twofer Card !

It was especially this lovely teddy bear head card which wanted to be made ! You will easily understand that it is only made from the different stamps that make up the watermelon slices of the second card.

I placed all the different parts, except the ears, in my Misty and I stamped in black. With a black marker I drew the face then I masked to stamp the ears.

For this card I stamped the different parts of the slices of the watermelon with Distress inks but removing a bit of ink with a cloth before stamping. Then I fussy cut it.

I made the background with a stamp from Uniko and with Kaleidacolor ink then I die cut it.

I foam mounted the background and I adhered the watermelon slices with Glue Dots. The sentiment is stamped and white heat embossed.

Stamp : Uniko “large background tropical paradise”, STAMPlorations “layered watermelon” –  Die : Catherine Pooler “Tags, etc” – Inks : Distress “Mowed lawn, Twisted Citron, Picked raspberry”, Kaleidacolor “fresh greens”.

And voilà ! I love the result which is even better than the one I had in my head. Thanks for your visit and all the lovely comments that you write. It’s always a pleasure to hear from you. See you very soon…

  1. Beautiful bright colours and lovely design of your melon card…so clever to create the teddy bear face using the same stamps and dies! Thank you for playing along at Crafty Catz this week.

  2. Who knew that watermelon slices could transform into a darling little puppy dog?! Now if that isn’t just sooo clever!! Even the seeds contribute to your design. This makes me smile. And your gorgeous, lush jungle-backed thank you card is lovely, too. Love those leaves, and your inking of those slices. The white embossed sentiment really pops against that green base, too. Two great cards. Thanks for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. Bev

  3. Well done using your NBUS stamps for your fantastic designs, Izzy, and how wonderful that the result is even better than what you imagined in your head! I love the multi-hued leafy background and bright watermelon rind green card base you chose to accompany your delicious ripe watermelon slices on your thank you card! And how fun and clever of you to turn your watermelon stamps into a sweet teddy bear face! I love it!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #24! Hugs, Darnell

  4. First, I would NEVER have guessed that adorable dog was created using those watermelon stamps. You certainly have a very good imagination. It’s a beautiful card, but the watermelons, which are more traditional, made me smile, too. Both of these are incredible, and the watermelon card with its green background is perfect for Try it on Tuesday’s latest Go Green challenge.

  5. That’s a wonderfully lush, tropical forest of leaves on your first card, Izzy … it complements the juicy watermelon beautifully! Oh my, your little pup face is adorable … and so clever … using the melon elements to create it is just genius … certainly had me smiling! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Grosses bises, Anita 🙂
