Less is More #392 – Shine a Light

Bonjour !

Nous voici déjà fin mars et chez Less is More nous terminons le mois avec ce nouveau défi…

Hello !

Here we are already end of March and at Less is More we close the month with this new challenge…

We also say goodbye to our sponsor Visible Image, but before leaving us, we have as our creative guest, Veerle  Morels from A Coloured Mind, who also is a member of the Visible Image Design Team. I invite you to visit her blog and leave her a nice comment.

Voici mes cartes…/ Here are my cards…

1/ Using sponsor stamp

I’ve had this wonderful stamp from our sponsor and I immediately thought to use it to illustrate polar lights.

I put a masking tape on the double white card and I blended different Distress inks, once pleased with the result, I stamped the trees in black.

Stamp: Visible Image “Into the woods” – Inks: Distress “Squeezed lemonade, Wilted violet, Cracked pistachio, Faded jeans, Salty ocean, Chipped sapphire”.

2/ You are amazing (using sponsor stencil)

On this card I wanted to shine a light on this adorable chicks, he is the star of the card !

I put the stencil on the double white card and with a brush I put Distress ink.

I stamped the chick on a scrap of white card stock and I coloured it with Promarkers.

To finish I fussy cut it and I foam mounted it on the card. Then I stamped the sentiment.

Stencil: Visible Image “Strobes” – Inks : Distress “Tumbled glass, Salty ocean” – Stamp : Create a Smile “Easter tweeting” – Promarkers : “Soft lime, Lemon, Yellow, Marine” .

  1. Sorry for my late visit, Izzy!
I have to say, your northern lights sky is just breathtaking, fantastic ink blending, take a bow! And your little chick in the spotlight looks so cute. Two fabulous cards for the challenge x

  2. Your polar lights look amazing Izzy, I find it hard to get the stripes looking as realistic as you do. I probably need to use a dauber as a blending tool is too big but they are really fun to do. And they look stunning behind a silhouette stamp of course! Making me want to book a ticket to Iceland :). And your little chick is just adorable – he certainly is in the spotlight, what a fabulous stencil, I like that a lot! I try not to fall in love with everything you use …… haha! Hugs, Lisa xx

  4. What a wonderful design for Less is More, Izzy! The sky that you have created is stunning and adds real depth to the scene. The little chick is a cutie too. Great inspiration 🙂

  5. Stunning and atmospheric background on your fist amazing card. The colours and the way you have done the sky is incredible. What a cute second card and the little chick sure is the star of the show x.

  6. Oh my goodness, Izzy … wow! What a stunning aurora borealis background … I gasped … it’s spectacular! Love how you have that fun little chick in the centre of the stencilled light burst … it’s so sweet … a design that’s perfect with the sentiment! Bises, Anita 🙂

  7. My jaw hit the floor when I saw your beautiful northern lights card Izzy. That sky is incredible and a perfect backdrop for those stamps. A stunning card indeed. The second card is just adorable! What a cute chick and it looks wonderful in the centre for the delicately stencilled rays. Fabulous. Have a fantastic weekend. xx
