January 2019 Uniko Design Team Blog Hop

Bonjour,

Hello,

and welcome to the January DT Blog Hop at Uniko. For this month, Bev asked us to choose our favourite product released in 2018. Very difficult choice since I love them all ! Since I chose to do a post this past Wednesday (see HERE) with the Pure Florals: Peony (another of my favorites), today I opted for the set Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom.

This set was released this past October and I immediately loved it. I really love this delicate foliage that we can use either with the outlines only or by stamping also the details of the leaves.

1/ It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Influenced by the colours of the current challenge at CAS Christmas card, I stamped these two branches with Versamark ink and I heat embossed with silver powder.

Then I used my all-new and so much loved Zig Pen Brushes to colour them blue and fading a bit with a brush and water.

Then I stamped the inside details of the leaves in a more intense blue but using the second generation stamping technique.

To finish I stamped the sentiment with Versarmark ink and I also heat embossed it with silver powder and I adhered the image on a double silver card.

Stamps:  Uniko “Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom”, “Most wonderful” (sentiment) – Watercolour Brush pens: Kuretake Zig Clean Color “Light blue, Persian blue” – Ink: Altenew “Persian blue” – EP: Hero Art “Silver”.

2/ Season’s Greetings

Update : Happy and honoured to be one of the Outstanding designs over at CAS Mix Up challenge.

Happy and honoured tot be one of the rockers over at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

Since I really liked how the leaves outlines look in silver embossing over the white cardstock, I decided to make another card without colouring the inside of the leaves.

However, to make them standing out, I created a Bokeh effect background, inspired by the current challenge at CAS Mix Up Card challenge.

On a white square I sponged Distress inks by overlapping them a bit, then using a stencil and white ink I created the Bokeh effect.

I adhered this square on a double white card, I stamped and I silver heat embossed the sentiment then I glued the branches previously fussy cut.

Stamps:  Uniko “Winter Botanicals: Sweet Broom”, “Simply said Christmas” (sentiment) – Stencil: Kaisercraft “Bubbly” – Inks: Distress “Cracked pistachio, mermaid lagoon, Peacock feather”, Hero Art “unicorn”.
