Carte/Card

November 2017 Design Team Blog Hop

Bonjour !

Hello !

I’m here for the November DT Blog Hop post at Uniko. Today we are celebrating several products from the last October release…

I must say that I had a lot of joy playing with all these products and here is what I came up with :

Snowflake trio shaker card

With this big snowflake from the “Snowflake Trio” set,  I could not help but make a shaker card and put in the center the die cut of the smallest snowflake on which I put Stickles.

Die:  Uniko “Snowflake trio” – Embellishment: Little Things from Lucy’s Cards sequins “Glacier, Snowdrift, Itty Bitty Stars-Clear iridescent”, Stickles “Icicle”.
Challenge:
Cute Card Thursday #503 : Sparkles
Tuesday Throwdown #368 : Shaker card

Snowflakes over bokeh background

The background is made with Distress inks and I used the “Scattered Polka Dots” stencil and white ink to make the Bokeh look. The snowflakes are die cut from the “Snowflake trio” die and I brushed over some Wink of Stella (unfortunately not visible on the picture). The sentiment is from the “Pure Floral: Poinsettia” set.

Die:  Uniko “Snowflake trio”Stencil : Uniko “Scattered polka dots”Stamp : Uniko “Pure Floral: Poinsettia” (sentiment) –  Inks : Distress “Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Tumbled Glass”, Hero Arts “Unicorn”, Brilliance “Moonlight white” –  Embellishment: Kuretake “Wink of Stella”.
Challenges:
AAA Cards #102 : Ink Blending
HLS CAS November challenge : Christmas
Addicted to stamps and more #267: Make your Mark

Scattered polka dots Happy birthday card

The big polka dots of the stencil “Scattered Polka Dots”, once coloured, remind me of Smarties and so of sweets and of birthdays! I colored the lower part of the card with Distress inks. On another paper I stamped and heat embossed the cake from the set “Celebrate with Cake” and I foam mounted it on the card.

Stencil : Uniko “Scattered polka dots”Stamps : Uniko “Celebrate with cake”, “Festive sentiments & Simply said blocks” (sentiment) –  Inks : Distress “Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Cracked Pistachio, Worn lipstick, Twisted citron, Mustard Seed, Spun sugar, Abandoned coral, Picked raspberry, Mowed Lawn, Spiced marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade”, Versafine “Onyx Black” –  Embellishment: Hero arts “white” EP.

Seize the toppings : Circles

Wonky Stripes Plaid  & Flower Power #1 matching die Christmas card

Seeing the stencil “Wonky stripes”, I immediately thought of the stripes of a Scottish plaid using it in both directions. Just as these little flowers from the “Flower Power # 1” set and die cut with the matching die remind me of a little “rustic” poinsettia. I added the beautiful sentiment of the set “Festive sentiments” and the holly leaves of the set “Winter Foliage” and I have one more card for Christmas in my stock!

Stencil : Uniko “Wonky stripes”Stamps : Uniko “Flower Power #1 & Winter Foliage“, “Festive sentiments” (sentiment) –  Inks : Distress “Twisted citron & Picked raspberry”, Versafine “Onyx Black” –  Die: Uniko “Flower power #1-#6 collection”, SSS “Stitched squares”.

The Merry Christmas challenge #42 : Anything goes + Christmas

The stencil “Wonky Stripes” is also ideal to make borders on the cards. With a masking tape we can make the border the size we wish. I couldn’t help but play with the matching dies of the “Flower Power #3” set and then with the colours of Uniko. It’s a little wink for Bev who delights us with her beautiful products!

Stencil : Uniko “Wonky stripes”Stamps : Uniko “Flower Power #3”Nature treasures II & Originally organic additions” (foliage), “Simply said blocks” (sentiment) –  Inks : Distress “Picked raspberry”, Altenew “Mountain mist, Volcano lake” –  Die: Uniko “Flower power #1-#6 collection”.
Flower power #4 stamp and matching die

After having created the patterned background paper with the stamp “Flower Power #4”, I stamped the flower of this set over 3 papers of different colours, I heat embossed them with white powder then I die cut them with the matching die to foam mounted them over the card.

Stamps : Uniko “Flower Power #4”, “Flower Power #6” (Leaves), Simply graphic “Planche un petit coucou” –  Inks : Altenew “Limestone, Volcano lake” –  Die: Uniko “Flower power #1-#6 collection”, MFT “Stitched Scallop Basic edge”.

Flower power #6 stamp and matching die

I wanted this last card very simple to highlight this beautiful rose from the set “Flower Power #6” and who says red rose says love, hence the sentiment ! So I stamped the rose over a slightly iridescent paper and I die cut it with the matching die. On the double iridescent card I stamped the stem and its petals in green. I foam mounted the rose over the stem. Then I stamped the sentiment, which is from the “Flower Power #3” set, over a black strip and I heat embossed it.

Stamps : “Flower Power #6”, “Flower Power #3” (sentiment) –  Inks : Altenew “Ruby red”, Brilliance “Pearlescent Thyme” –  Die: Uniko Flower power #1-#6 collection”.

  1. OMG! I’m here at last and how could I miss such beauty in this post IZZY. It’s been busy catching up with Anita and Kylie but I’m totally inspired now to get crafty again especially after looking through these stunning Uniko inspired makes. All so different, fun and elegant. Absolutely adore your bokeh background snowflake cards but they all have the X-factor for me! Hugs xx

  2. You have turned into a real card making machine, dear Izzy!
The snowflake shaker is gorgeous and sparkly, the bokeh background perfect for the snowflakes, the polka dotted cup cake card so much fun, your use of the striped stencil to make a plaid background very creative, and the flower cards are all very pretty!

  3. Oh you have been busy creating!!! 4. Hi Izzy – I’m back for ‘second helpings’ of gazing at and admiring your stunning cards! This visit, I’m especially captivated by the snowflakes on the bokeh wintry wonderland background which is a most impressive way to ‘make your mark’! So thrilled you joined us in the Addicted to Stamps and More gallery!

  5. WOW! What an amazing showcase Izzy 🙂
I am loving your snowflake shaker card, something I had not thought of doing and might just have to CASE this idea 😉
Your Bokeh background with the Scattered Polka Dot stencil and the snowflake die cut is to die for, simply creative and stunning.
Loving your colour choices for the Flower Power cards and inspirational layouts too. You have really done Uniko proud and I am so blessed to have you on the DT. Hugs Bev x

  6. I don’t know how you do it Izzy, you make so many beautiful cards. It takes me a week to make 2! All your cards have something to delight on them, either the colours, the layout, the choice of stamp, or just simply the creativity of using stamps in a slightly different way. You always make something that I want to try! I just LOVE that bokeh background – I really have not mastered this yet with white ink (I think mine may be little dry). Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us, a gorgeous set of cards.

  7. What an amazing selection of cards, Izzy – such a wonderful showcase of Uniko products! I really love the bokeh look that you achieved with the scattered dots….I must try that and your inking on the colourful birthday card is perfect 🙂 The wonky plaid that you have created looks really cool – I did that on a baby card in pastel shades but I like the bold colours that you have used much more 🙂 It was a treat to visit your blog today x

  8. Wow, Isabelle … such loveliness … and such variety … your versatility shines through this fabulous collection! The florals are so pretty, the wonky striped ‘plaid’ is clever and cool, and those snowflake cards … wow … one so shimmery and sparkly, the other so stylish with the bokeh background! You could enter these two at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday this week … our theme is Snow White (all things snow related!). Bon dimanche! Hugs & Bises, Anita 🙂

  9. Oh wow! You have the most wonderful array of cards, I’m totally impressed by your post. Loving the shaker snowflake, so beautifully sparkly. Thanks for linking one of your cards up at AAA Cards.

  10. GASP! Talk about an impressive array of cards, Izzy…and each one showcases not only the products, but the vast range of your crafting style! The shaker is especially eye-catching and oh, how I’m crushing over the plaid made with the wonky stripes! Marveling….
    Hugs~carol
