Less is More Week #334 – Sketch 20

Bonjour !

Nous revenons cette semaine avec un nouveau défi chez Less is More ! Cette semaine c’est la semaine du…

Hello !

We are coming back this week with a new challenge at Less is More ! This week is the week of the…

… and here is what we propose you.

This week, I still have three cards for you, which one of them uses a product from STAMPlorations, our sponsor for the month of June !

On a white double card, after having masked, with the required shape in the sketch, the parts that I didn’t want to colour, I laid down my stencil and with Distress inks and mini applicators, I coloured the roses.

I could have done of this card, a one layer card by directly stamping the sentiment in black over the roses, but I wanted to change a little bit and I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and I white heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock.

To finish and to give a little bit of dimension, I put a few drops of Stickles over the hearts of the roses. A very CAS card, easy and quick to reproduce.

Stencil: STAMPlorations “Old rose prints” – Inks: Distress “Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn” Versamark – Embellishment: Hero Arts “white embossing powder”, Ranger Stickles “Diamond”.

2/ Have a jelly good birthday

On a double white card I made the background, again with a stencil and with Distress inks. Then I cut 2 white parts giving them the required shape in the sketch. On the bottom part I stamped the sentiment and I heat embossed it. I foam mounted the 2 parts before adhering them on the double card.

To finish I stamped the jelly fish on a white cardstock. As it is a stamp with different layers, I stamped and I heat embossed the second layer. Then I die cut it with the matching die before adhering it on the card with adhesive foam.

Stencil: SSS “Waves” – Inks: Distress “Tumbled glass, Salty ocean, Mermaid lagoon”, Versafine “Majestic blue” (sentiment), Hero Arts “Ombré Dolphin” – Stamp: Hero Arts “My monthly hero July 2016”.

3/ Hello

As I just received different colours of Nuvo Crystal Drops, I wanted to play with them and see how to use them.

In a white cardstock I cut 2 sizes of daisies with punchers. To give a little bit of colours, I then put some Nuvo Crystal Drops on the heart of the bigger daisies.

On a black double card I adhered the daisies in order to illustrate the wave of the sketch. And then to finish, I die cut twice the sentiment and I glued them one over the other to give dimension.

Puncher: EK Success (for the biggest daisy. I don’t know the brand of the small one) – Embellishment: Tonic Studio Crystal drops “Navy blue, Duck egg blue, Ripened pumpkin, Sugared almond, Bubblegum blush, Dandelion yellow, Apple green” – Die: MFT “Hello”.

  1. Each card is unique and beautiful in its own way. I’m actually unable to pick a favorite as each is so different in style, 1 elegant, 2 fun and 3 so versatile and pretty with white flowers and small but visible color accents.

  2. Izzy, another three beautiful cards. It’s amazing how one simple sketch can allow for such beauty. But of course, the skill of the cardmaker makes it that way. I was already in love with the first picture at the top of your post (the sneak peak of the roses stencil), and then I saw the whole thing. Love the strip of black against the bright green and pink – gorgeous. The waves stencil is beautiful for the shape of the design and I absolutely love all those gorgeous little flowers with the different coloured drops. Beautiful cards, simply love your style! Hugs, Lisa xx

  3. A wonderful trio, Izzy. Love the bright pink and vivid green of your stencilling, it’s gorgeous. The watery theme is perfect for this sketch with your jellyfish, and wow for your third card, what a great way to interpret the sketch, I love it! xx

  4. This is so pretty Izzy, just love the sweet daisies and dramatic black background…just perfect Thank you for sharing with us over at ‘The Flower Challenge’ and we hope to see you again soon 😉 Viv DT xx

  5. Oh my gosh, you have been busy. All of your cards are beautiful! My favorite is the black card with the white flowers…what a terrific idea. I think I have to use your idea here!

  6. Fabulous trio of cards, Izzy! You rocked the sketch, giving us so much inspiration with each one. Beautiful ink blending through the stencils and then switching it up with the punched daisies. I’ve been debating on buying those Nuvo drops. I may have to get them now. 😉 Have a wonderful weekend!

  7. There is lots of inspiration for this week’s sketch on your blog today, Izzy! I love the perfect inking and vibrant colours through the Stamploration stencil and that jellyfish card is brilliant….I have been eyeing up those stamps for a while. The nuvo drops add lovely little touches of colour to your daisies too. You have achieved such different looks with the same sketch. I hope you have a great weekend xx

  8. That stencilled swoosh of roses is just beautiful, Isabelle … the colours are so vibrant and jewel-like. That tendril-ly jellyfish is so fun against the ocean waves … and I love your scattering of daisies … gorgeous with the textured black background! Bises, Anita 🙂

  9. Izzy, these are gorgeous! The pretty colours on the first card are so summery and lovely <3 What a great example of stencilling. Loving the waves and the jellyfish on the second card, and the humorous sentiment! And your final card is stunning with the pretty flowers and scripty sentiment against the black background – totally awesome! Have a lovely weekend x

  10. 3 fun cards, all so different from one another and all fabulous examples of the sketch, very inspiring! I’m waiting to receive some Nuvo drops soon and can’t wait to get to test them… Yours look great! I also love the dark card base. The sketch is perfect for the “water-theme” in your second card and the stenciled design in your first card -simply perfectly cas. Have a great weekend!

  11. You’ve been so busy Izzy and each one showcases the sketch perfectly. Your stencilling on the first two is sheer brilliance and how you’ve kept those roses so crisp without smudging the pinks and greens together is astonishing. You must have super mini blenders. So stylish and your pretty tumbling daisies against the black base card on the last one is simply eyepopping. Great use of your nuvodrops too! Enjoy your weekend x
