CAS Colours & Sketches #300 GD4 – Sketch

Bonjour !

Hello !

Today is my final post as the November Guest Designer for CAS Colours and Sketches. I want to thank Patricia and her team for inviting me. It has been a great honour and I had a lot of fun.

It is with a pretty sketch that we finish the month of November and here is how I interpreted it …

As soon as I saw this sketch I knew that I was going to use snowflakes instead of the hearts. The shapes of the flakes have always fascinated me, they are so diverse, it’s magical ! And what better than a pretty blue background to highlight these beautiful white snowflakes !

I started by stamping the 3 snowflakes with Versamark and I white heat embossed them.

Then I put some masking tape all around the card and I made a blue gradient. Thanks to the “emboss resist” technique the snowflakes pop up.

To give more movement (like a real snowfall), I splashed this blue background with water and I removed the excess with a paper towel. I also splashed with white paint.

I die cut three snowflakes in a glittery white card stock and I glued them overlapping the stamped snowflakes. To finish I stamped the sentiment in red.
