Carte/Card

SSS, Uniko & Simply Graphic – Joyeux Noël

Bonjour !

Hello !

Today I come back with a card, or rather two even if it is the same design because the paper and the techniques used are different. Recently I bought “Multi-Technique” paper that is quite thick and white, so I wanted to do a watercolour test on it. But not being sure of the result, I preferred to do the same design on normal paper on which I used markers.

The inspiration comes from the beautiful card that Chriss presents us at Muse Christmas Visions, just have a look…

Je me suis inspirée :

  • du design
  • du bouquet
  • des couleurs
  • du fond bleu
  • de l’embossage or
  • …bref, de tout !

I was inspired by :

  • the design
  • the floral spray
  • the colours
  • the blue wash background
  • the gold embossing
  • ….well, everything !

1/ Watercolour Merry Christmas

I stamped, masked and heat embossed (with gold powder)  the floral spray. Then with Catherine Pooler’s inks, a brush and water, I watercolored each element of this image as well as the outlines.

Then I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and I heat embossed with gold powder. I made a stitched frame with a die all around the image. To finish, I foam mounted this image on a double white card.

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp “Winter flowers”, Uniko “Festive Sentiments” (sentiment) – Inks : Catherine Pooler “Rockin’ red, Lime rickey, Grass skirt, It’s a boy”, Distress “Antique Linen” – Embellishment: SSS EP “Antique gold”.

As I told you before, I coloured this card with markers.

I also changed the sentiment to put one in French and I added sequins. In fact I had to put one to hide a burr that I made with a marker and therefore I put others so that it feels less alone !

Stamps: Simon Says Stamp “Winter flowers”, Simply Graphic “Planche voeux assortis” (sentiment) – Markers : Promarker “Soft lime, Lime green, Leaf green, Bright green, Lemon, Ivory, Blossom, Carmine, Red, Berry red, Pastel Blue”, Fabrico “Brick” – Embellishment: Little Things from Lucy’s Card  “Sparkly” sequins.

Finally I like both, may be a small preference for the watercolour card because the colors are a little more vivid, anyway, it makes me two more cards in my Christmas stock !

  1. Golden embossing adds so much elegance to your cards! Beautifully designed cards. I love them for their delicacy.
Thank you for playing with Happy Little Stampers Xmas.

  2. The gold embossing makes either technique look beautiful, Izzy. I love that stamp and it works well with all the challenges. I’m glad you shared your cards with us at HLS Christmas. and Addicted to Stamps and More.

    Bises

  4. Both your cards are so beautiful, Isabelle. I love the gold embossing with the lovely colouring. Thanks so much for sharing this week at Watercooler Wednesday Christmas Challenge.

  5. Gorgeous – there’s no other word for it! I love the look of the gold with the watercolouring. Thanks so much for joining us at MCV!

  8. Beautiful outcomes on both cards with your different techniques! I love both ❤️
I also love the stamp set you selected, a perfect choice!
Thanks so much for joining in on our MCV 100 celebration! Good luck with our random drawing 🍀

  9. Wow Isabelle! I just finished reading your post and enjoying your cards. I love the way you took the inspirational card and then made it your own with your lovely stamping and heat embossing. There is something about heat-embossed gold, isn’t there? It makes everything that little bit more special. I love both versions. The watercoloured images are stunning. The vivid colours really grab one’s attention. The softer colours of your markers, however, also lend a beautiful, slightly dreamy, look to your card. Both are stunning! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  10. Great CAS on this card Izzy. The image is so beautiful and you’ve shown it at its best with the gold embossing. I really like both styles with the less is more being my favourite. The sequins are a wonderful touch and I like the French Joyeux Noel sentiment. Beautiful! Thanks for being our first entry this week at the All About Christmas challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.
