Less is More Week #345 – OLC Colouring in !

Bonjour !

Hello !

I hope you’ve enjoyed our first challenge of the month ! Today is the one you all expect (or dread the most?), the famous One Layer Card ! This week we ask you to color your image !

I also remind you that our sponsor for this month is Happy Little Stampers.

Here are the cards that I concocted for you this week.

Here is the card I’ve made this summer for the wedding of my niece’s friends. She wanted something simple and natural. So I thought that the Kraft card was perfect as well as this beautiful stamp from Uniko that I find very delicate.

I first embossed the frame with a die. Then I stamped and I heat embossed the image and the sentiment. To finish I coloured with colour pencils.

A card easy and very quick to do !

Stamp: Uniko “originally organic”, Simply Graphic “planche félicitations” (sentiment) – Inks: Versamark –  Embellishments: Hero Arts “white embossing powder” – Pencils: Faber-Castell polychromos “#123, #132, #168, #170, #205”.

2/ Thanks / Merci

I have to say that, although it is simple, I had to try several times to arrive at this card!

A little bit of dry embossing with a die cut to make the frame, a bit of masking to stamp the background without overflowing outside the frame but especially a bit of masking in the middle to leave a blank space for the sentiment.

And of course, I heat embossed the sentiment and the background that I then coloured with markers.

Now I show you what I had to do it several times….

This is my first try but I found that the sentiment did not pop up properly, so after 1 or 2 days watching my card, I decided to stamp the sentiment over a blank space.

Here is my second try, but in my rush I forgot to leave the blank space for the sentiment !! Grrrr! I was not going to throw away this card, so I decided to stamp a smaller sentiment underneath and color it in other tones. Finally I like it too!

Stamp: Uniko “Background Blocks Doodle Flower”, Artemio “textes manuscrits”(sentiment), HLS “Simply said” (sentiment) – Inks: Versafine “Majestic Blue”, Versamark  – Markers: Promarkers “Pumpkin, Duck egg, True blue, Lime Green, Turquoise, Purple”.
Challenges:
SSS Monday challenge : Stamp it
The Flower challenge #12 : Tic-Tac-Toe ( I chose the right column : Sentiment, CAS, colour (blue))
CAS on friday #116 : Color me Pretty, use Pencils or Markers

3/ Happy birthday

For this card, I decided to use watercolour colour pencils.

I first dry embossed the circles with dies then I stamped and heat embossed the 3 images.

Then I simply colored the images by diffusing the colors with a brush and water.

To finish, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment.

Stamp: Craft sensations (don’t know the name of the stamp), Uniko “Happy succulents” (sentiment) – Inks: Versafine “Onyx black” – Watercolour pencils: Faber-Castell  “#430, 432, 407, 409, 414, 416, 418, 421, 427, 429, 445, 447, 453, 463, 470, 478, 483, 496”.

  1. Three wonderful cards, Izzy… Your white heat embossed flower on kraft looks so beautiful… Great, artistic coloring on this one, wow! I love how patient you’ve been to create the second card just the way you wanted it to be -great design! Your third card must be my favorite -you master using dies for embossing. I always mess this up and end up cutting through my card! 🙂

  2. Sorry I’m so late this week, Izzy! What amazing cards from you once again. Love your simple kraft card. Love the delicate image and the detail from the embossed frame. So glad you persevered with your square floral card, it was well worth the effort and great that you could use your first attempts too. And your watercoloured images look great inside the debossed circles, such a great design idea. Awesome inspiration! xx

  3. What an adorable little bear, Isabelle … those sweet floral panels are so pretty … and that gorgeous Uniko image (one of my favourites at the moment!) … just delicious, so perfect on the kraft, the colours are wonderful against it! Bises, Anita 🙂

  4. Wow! Such inspirational one layer cards Izzy! The simplicity of the first card is so elegant and classy. Loving each of the design versions on the second card, they all look great in their own way and they are full of techniques too. Then we get the dreamy and adorable water colour card. Absolutely fab! xx

  5. They are all gorgeous one layer cards !!! Love them all! The entry card at The Flower Challenge is a pretty CAS card as well! I personally like the first trial with the bold navy stripe in the middle too! Thank you so much for joining us at The Flower Challenge!

  6. Three fabulous cards, Izzy. That wedding card is so elegant on Kraft. Great use of masking on your second card. Brilliant adjustment to your design…which I think showcases the framed in florals better. 😉 And I adore your third card. It’s simply adorable and I love how you coloured in your images. So soft and pretty. Great job! Enjoy your weekend and gave a wonderful week. 😊 Trina xx

  7. What a gorgeous arry of cards Izzy! I love how you said “dread” the one layer card. I don’t dread them but I don’t often manage them! Always there is something that inadvertently pops itself up! I absolutely love the kraft card. I think there is nothing like soft colours within a white outline on a kraft card. So beautiful. As always I marvel at how many cards you manage to produce – takes me ages to get one done! Thank you as always for sharing your talent with us, Lisa xx

  8. Oh my goodness Izzy – you’re on fire with creations! 3 total stunners and love the sophisticated and elegant look of the first one on kraft cardstock – you’ve showcased that organic bloom from Uniko beautifully. I love the second one too and your idea was definitely worth persevering with but thanks for sharing the other attempts too. Then what a cutie number 3 is. Simply adorable, so much detail yet still so much space. Hugs x
